Statement to voters

I’m Mike Byfield, and I’m proud to be the Green Party parliamentary candidate for Gloucester.

I live near the city centre with my wife and 7-year-old son, and am also a Governor at a local primary school.

The importance of this election can not be overstated. Many of us hope the outcome will provide direction and stability on issues like Brexit and the NHS.
But I believe climate change is the challenge of our time. This is the climate election. The UK is waking up quickly to the very real threat we face with regard to climate change and ecological breakdown.

The Green Party has always lead on environmental policy – we are the only party that can be trusted to put the climate and ecological emergency at the front and centre of how we lead the country. My hope is that we can overcome our differences, start to heal the rifts that divide us, and work together to make real and lasting improvements for all.
