A long-term Scottish Greens member, John has been living in the ward since 2015.
Soon after moving to The Inch, he joined other local residents in the fight to save Inch House Community Centre from closure. He is now the Secretary of Inch House, and was involved in the campaign to save Inch Park from the threat of housing being built on the nursery site in the centre of the park.
He has been a local community councillor with Gilmerton Inch Community Council since 2016, and has taken part in consultations on the future of transportation in Edinburgh and the provision of energy to city residents.
