Statement to voters

Should I be elected as your MP, I will concentrate on the following:
• I will challenge further housing development in Wealden unless firstly supported by our local education, health, social services, transport and policing infrastructure. I will also pressure the Police and Crime Commissioner to prioritise crime prevention.
• As our trade with the rest of the world expands, I will push for enlargement of the Royal Navy to protect our shipping routes.
• I will support pro-business policies, but I have reservations about workers automatically joining company boards.
• I want a future-proofed care industry with efficient measures to handle Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment, in particular.
• I want the law to change so that no one entering a care home need sell their property to pay for a basic level of care. I strongly believe that the State has a duty to look after elderly citizens.
• I condemn the betrayal of every young person by the Lib Dems for introducing sky-high tuition fees at university. It should never have happened and it will be extremely difficult to unravel, but I am committed to doing something about it.
