Statement to voters

Andy has lived in north west Leeds for over 30 years, since he first came to the city as a student. He completed a degree in History, then worked at Leeds University and in the Civil Service before joining First Direct bank, where he spent over 20 years.
He attended evening classes to get an IT qualification and since then has had several jobs working in the IT area.

Andy is hands-on committed to community activity. He worked on First Direct bank’s community programmes, building links with local community groups and supporting educational and environmental initiatives. He volunteers for a local credit union, where he serves on the board, and for an environmental charity. He’s also on the board of the Kirkstall Neighbourhood Forum. He’s a member of his local community association, supporting their efforts to bring people together and to improve facilities and opportunities for everyone in the area.

Andy says
“I believe that we need to keep a Labour council in Leeds to protect the vulnerable and to see that everyone gets a fair chance, and that no-one gets left behind.
If I’m elected to serve as one of the ward’s Councillors, I will ensure that the voice of Adel & Wharfedale is heard in Civic Hall, and that the needs of everyone are considered when decisions on local matters are made.”
