Statement to voters

Pitsea has not fared well under the Labour / UKIP Local Plan. They’ve agreed to place two traveller sites in Pitsea and they have agreed to building a huge development in Bowers Gifford. Conservative proposals to remove these two large sites from the plan were defeated 22 votes to 16 at the recent Council meeting to approve the Local Plan.

Footpaths are in decline, litter isn’t being removed, fly tipping has become a big problem and hedges are left to overgrow. As your Conservative Councillor I will ensure that our area is not continually blighted by these problems. We all deserve a better environment to work and live in.

A passion of mine is housing and I recognise we need to build homes so that our children and grandchildren have somewhere to live. High density housing in already crowded areas is not the answer. We need an innovative approach to this problem and Conservative proposals to promote limited Green Belt infill is one option to help to build the sort of homes we need for the future.
