Statement to voters

I have lived in Leicester for 38 years with my family. I worked as an Engineer though I am now retired. I am passionate about politics and I spend my time supporting local communities. Socially I enjoy watching cricket and football.

My experience will help me as a Councillor in Belgrave:

• I am a Secretary at Leicestershire Ethnic Elderly Advocacy Project. (LEEAP), which has given me Casework experience.
• I am the Member of Trade Union.
• I am a volunteer who has experience in the communities.
• I am the President of Shree Limbachia Gnati Mandal Leicester which has approximately 500 members.
• I am able to speak English, Gujarati and Hindi.

My aim of being a councillor is to make a difference to the lives of local constituents and to bring together communities. I want to stand for the Council to represent and serve local people through the values of The Labour Party.

My vision for Leicester is that I want to make sure it is the best city in the Midlands. Leicester has many new communities and we need to make them part of the Labour family.
