Jonathan Munday has recently retired after a 30-year career as an NHS GP in a busy inner London practice and moved to Fivehead for the beauty of our bit of Somerset and a new sense of community. He has 16 years’ experience as a Councillor in his former Borough and had the honour to be its Mayor. He also has experience as a local magistrate and with several charities, including St. John Ambulance.
Jonathan is passionately committed to maintaining the rural peace and beauty of our area, whilst encouraging and facilitating local business and housing on brownfield sites to offer well-paid jobs and new affordable homes. Jonathan believes that a first-class education is the stepping stone to all well-paid jobs and will ensure that all our local schools offer this.
Although new to the village, Jonathan is committed to working with all his Conservative colleagues to ensure the new Somerset Council provides the best local services at the smallest cost to the council taxpayer. He will work to ensure that our expectations are met for quieter and safer roads and that new development does not detract from the joy of living in Curry Rivel and Langport.
