Statement to voters

I am dogged and focused, innovative and enthusiastic, compassionate and honest. I am a realist and I am pragmatic.

I am also an enthusiastic member of the Cooperative Party and committed to working with them to build resilience in labour councils

• I have been a Samaritan volunteer for over 10 years
• I am a skilled and effective youth worker
• I achieved a degree in Mathematics when my family were young
• I am a qualified and experienced Yoga teacher
• I teach Mathematics at Regent College in Leicester

I arrived in Leicester in 1958, at first, I lived in Highfields, then in Glen Parva, followed by 30 years in Aylestone and now in Westcotes. I have worked, studied and raised my family in Leicester. My interest in politics was sparked in the 1980s as the result of the massive changes made by Mrs Thatcher.

Now I have a grandson and I want him to be as proud of Leicester and the labour movement as I am. I want to continue to defend NHS, the public sector and our collective assets.

I want to help the people of my City adapt and prosper and make a positive contribution to the life of the city into the 21st century

I want to work with the many to remove the Tory few!!!.
