- Statement to voters
My name is Sam Midgley and I am standing in this election as a candidate for the Green Party. I am a primary school teacher who lives and works in Kirklees. The Green Party is a party of social and environmental justice for the benefit of all. I believe that in a Climate Emergency sustainability should be at the heart of every decision made or else we risk failing ourselves and future generations. There are local issues too, which are important to the Holme Valley such as housing developments putting pressure on local infrastructure and air quality. A Green voice is one that needs to be heard on these issues. The Green Party has a full range of policies which all fit together to benefit everyone in society. This includes social justice, transport and the environment. This is crucial when the cost of living is rising.
